Intensive Outpatient Program

At ChoiceTherapy, we are pleased to offer our highly effective Intensive Outpatient Program specifically designed for individuals residing in the states of California and Oregon. Our program is aimed at providing comprehensive and intensive mental health support to help clients overcome various psychological challenges.

TREATMENT OPTIONS

Our treatment options are based on your needs and our availability. Our IOP includes meeting with a licensed therapist 12 hours a week, four days a week, three hours a day. This includes a weekly treatment planning meeting, where goals and progress are discussed, and a family session, where family members can learn about OCD and how how to implement helpful behaviors. The remaining time is spent on practicing exposures and learning how to integrate ACT and ERP into your daily life. The length of IOP can vary but typically ranges between 2 to 10 weeks. In addition to our 12 hour a week program we also offer an optional support group.

How can therapy help?

Let’s hear from Mary:

“I came to therapy fearful of losing control and harming myself and others when driving. As a result I stopped driving and when forced to drive I would spend hours seeking reassurance from others. This destroyed my life. I could no longer be independent and see my friends and family. I did not think I was not capable of driving while feeling anxious. Through the use of ERP and ACT I became more aware of my underlying fears, helpful and unhelpful responses. My therapist and I worked collaboratively to explore my values and a variety of ways I could practice leaning into uncertainty and discomfort instead of avoiding it. When it came time to practice exposures I chose where to begin and my therapist would practice the exposures with me. Over time and with enough practice I learned how to be my own exposure expert and that I could drive and do other things when when I felt anxious and unsure of myself. I never thought I could do this and I did! You can too! Not only did my overall anxiety decrease but I am now able to see my friends and family whenever I choose. I feel more confident in my ability to handle all sorts of fears, uncertainty and discomfort. The fear no longer drives my life. I do!”
